Sarah + Dan Edinburgh, UK, 28th Feb - 4th March 2011 (BST) Casita Carmelo

Dear Brendan and Terrie We are thrilled to have found this place! Absolutely stunning Casita and location - the perfect antidote to a long winter in Scotland. After only one day, we no longer feel exhausted. The Casita is fantastic; spacious, comfortable and yet also elegant. We love the picture windows and also their views. Haria is also lovely. We drove through on our first visit to Lanzarote and knew we wanted to come back to stay longer. We are very glad we did, and suspect you will be seeing us again! Many thanks for creating such a great place! Love Sarah + Dan

Camilla + Benjamin (Lenzburg, Switzerland),17 - 25.2.2011 (BST) Casita Carmelo

Dear Terrie & Brendan Wild and windy sea, colourful flora and fauna and many beautiful and peaceful places were found on this fascinating island. One of these places was "Casita Carmelo". Every day we felt like coming home. :) Thank you sooooo much for everything! We enjoyed a really comfortable and relaxing time here on Lanzarote... All the best and hope to see you again!

Sev + Helen, Brighton, England., 8/2/11 - 17/2/11 (BST) Casita Carmelo

Sitting on the terrace in the morning sun on our last day here...A little sad to be going home. :( Casita Carmelo has been a little oasis and a cozy home away from the rain in Brighton. Discovering Lanzarote has been a delight, so charming yet rugged and wild. Perhaps eating at Amanecer four times was a little excessive...but we loved it so much! Timanfaya was awesome...followed by El Golfo on the same day, we were exhilarated! Thanks to the Finucanes for being so accomodating + thoughtful with their gentle hints on places to visit. The good thing is...we still have the Cuevas + the Cactus Gardens to visit..We decided to save them til next time :) Best wishes to all...we will recommend to all our friends.

Elke (Frankfurt/Germany) + Doug, (California/USA),29-01-11 --- 05-02-11 (BST) Casita Carmelo

The weather seems to have improved a bit from the previous guests' entry, nevertheless the hot shower and the gas heater were appreciated :) The Casita Carmelo was perfect for us, it's very quiet and cosy and the ideal home away from home. We enjoyed discovering all that Lanzarote has to offer but just as much coming back in the evenings to relax. Our favorites are: the beaches at Famara and Papagayo, hike near Guinate with spectacular views of La Isla Graciosa, the coastal lava field in the Parque National Timanfaya, Manrique's wonderful creations and dinner at La Puerta Verde! Thank you for your hospitality! We hope to be back soon!

Sally, David, Cork, Ireland, 22-01-11 --- 29-01-11 (BST) Casita Carmelo

This must have been one of the coldest, wettest and windiest weeks in Lanzarote for years! But - the warmth of the welcome from Harry and Loraine was like sunshine. We missed meeting you Brendan + Terrie but the spirit of all those emails was here. A totally stress free week, (apart from the drive to Teguise!) lots of reading, scrabble and Theo's DVDs. Hopefully next time the sun will shine. Blessings on you and all who stay in your lovely place.

Noud & Ceciel, UK, 8-1-11 - 22-1-11 (BST) Casita Carmelo

Our second time in Casita Carmelo was even better than the first one a year ago. Less wind and more sun. It is getting easier to make nice walks on the island with the new Red de Senderos, hopefully the guide book will be printed soon! Unfortunately we did not meet Brendan & Terrie, due to their trip to visit Maximilian and hsi family in Australia, but the 'caretakers' Nigel & Della and Harry & Loraine did a perfect job! We will send you a picture to fill the remainder of this page, or maybe we will bring it ourselves, because we will be back sometime.

Janice and Michelle Pawgs, Wales, UK, December 30 2010 - January 6 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

The perfect place to escape the long hard winter in the UK. -6 deg ¤C as we left to +23 ¤C when we arrived at Haria. We have enjoyed a a wonderfully relaxing week, both exploring the many treasures of the island and chilling out at some of the unspoilt caves near Orzola. Highlights for us have been the views from Mirador del Rio and a brilliant day on the island of La Graciosa - the 1.5 hr walk to La Cancha playa is well rewarded. Sorry to have missed Brendad + Family due to their trip to Australia.

Adrian y RocÁo, 24 Diciembre - 29 Diciembre 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Isabel + Uli, December 10th - December 22nd(BST) Casita Carmelo

This place is truly the best to escape the Northern European winter mayhem! In Casita Carmelo we had a very relaxing and quiet time...Exactly what we needed after a turbulent year. Now it's time for us to go back to freezing cold Berlin and we aren't really sure what to expect. The lovely memories of sunny afternoons, cute & singing donkeys and the blue ocean will surely help us to cope with the upcoming winter stress!!! With best wishes Isabel + Uli

Charlie & Katharine, 27 November - 4 December 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

We've had a lovely week, relaxing and getting away from the "hustle and bustle" of London. Thank you for your warm welcome. It was always nice to come back to peaceful Casita Carmelo after a day of sight-seeing! Thanks again Charlie & Katharine P.S. And thank you so, so much for letting us stay the extra night. We really had a wonderful time!

Margaret + Hans Pete from Switzerland, 22 - 27 November 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Dear Brendan and Terrie Thank you that you let us your charming house for five days. We enjoyed it. Wonderful nature, sun, food and good wine in the north of Lanzarote. Haria is a very nice place! We are very impressed about the work or Enrique Manque. Thank you and all the best

Bas, Femke & Tirza - Amsterdam, 14 - 21 November 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Dear Brendan and Terrie After a thorough internet search for the ideal spot for a relaxing holiday with our daughter, I decided that Casa Carmelo was the place to go, and we LOVED it even more than we could have expected. Having visited Lanzarote once before, I knew that Bas & Tirza would love it, but Casa Carmelo has really made it fantastic. Such a beautiful apartment and dito terrace. I think Tirza has not ruined anything (yet...), although she tried to redecorate by moving all of your volcanic stones around. As for sights and restaurants: we loved Mirador del RÁo, abd driving through the beautiful landscapes (like the road through La Geria). And of course the sea/beach! Dinners at "Amanecer" and "Puerta Verde" were great. Tirza loved the saturday market, and couldn't stop dancing... Like many guests who have written in this book, we will try to return! Thank you

Shirley & Michael, Forres, Moray Scotland (Brrrr!), 29th October - 12th November 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Thank you. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday. Or setting. Or hosts. We have loved our time here. The casitas are both beautiful, such a pleasure to relax and unwind in. Where better to rest, recharge and velebrate a 40th? We will spread the word! Shirley & Michael xxx

Chris and Janine, Leeds., 24/10/10 - 31/10/10(BST) Casita Carmelo

We loved the apartment lovely decor, very comfortable. Weather was great, the region is really lovely. Thanks and best wishes Chris and Janine, Leeds.

Andy & Yvonne, Peebles, 17th - 24th October 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Lovely spot and to tour the north! Great surprise were the beautiful cloud formations amd the patterns of light and shade across the landscape. Redolent of Scotland, but there it is both colder and greener!! Opportunity to meet up with old friends who "emigrated" here 7 1/2 years ago but with whom we had lost touch. Thank you local --- ----!!!! Congratulations and thanks to our hosts for being inspired to create this beautiful opportunity for us all to share.

Elizabeth and Peter, Harpenden, Hartfordshire, UK, 10th - 17th October 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

We fell in love with this place 4 years ago & our return visit has reminded us why. From the extroadinary beauty of Manrique's work to the simple pleasure of eating delicious fresh fish at a fraction of the price at home, this place is perfect! The funny thing is that people still look a little horrified when you tell them you are coming to 'Lanzagrotty'. If only they knew what they were missing; but then this little island is so much nicer without them..... Elizabeth and Peter

Hen & Nat, 26/09/10 - 02/10/10(BST) Casita Carmelo

What can we say about Casita Carmelo that hasn't already been said? We have discovered a Lanzarote that we never knew existed this past week. Brendan & Terrie, you have been fantastic & frankly your help, advice & warm welcome really made the holiday for us. From dinner & drinks at Jameos del agua to BBQ's on the terrace by the back door, it has been a truly amazing holiday. We hope to be back soon! Thank you Hen & Nat x

Christophe and Janet, 8/9/10 - 10/9/10(BST) Casita Carmelo

Terrie, Brendan and Theo. What a tonic Casita Carmelo. A treasure. We appreciated the charming details & the convivality of the family. With love, Christophe and Janet. xx

Jo & Vin, 8/9/10 - 10/9/10(BST) Casita Carmelo

Dear Brendan & Terrie We feel fortunate to have spent two nights at this small oasis, created with so much delicate craftsmanship and so much love for detail, that the welcome to our stay at the island could not have felt more generous and heart warming. Thanks for all the tips to restaurants, walk abouts and picturesque sightings, so that even in this small period of time, we were able to feel like we already experience the best the island has to offer.

Pip and Lizzie, 31/08/10 - 7/09/10(BST) Casita Carmelo

Thank you so much for a fantastic week of relaxation. It was a pleasure falling for the fantastic landscape and leisurely pace of life on this beautiful island. We arrived without sunglasses, hats or transport, perhaps the most poorly prepared visitors on the island! The bus service is fantastic, the beaches are superb and every hill we climbed provided another sensational view. Casita Carmelo was perfect, every smallest detail was considered to make us feel at home from the first moment. It is a painful feeling heading home, even more so because of our sunburn! Thanks again, we wish we could stay longer! Best wishes, Pip and Lizzie

Chris and El, May 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Adios Amigos! Thank you for being such lovely hosts. Carmelo was a clean, cool and welcoming place full of personality and character that was lovely to discover. You guys, Brendan, Terrie + Theo have been generous, helpful and fun and have made this place much nicer than we could have expected. We've had two very relaxing weeks recharging and living the good life and have really appreciated and enjoyed your discreet but embracing generosity and fun. It has been a perfect paradise holiday and it will always be the place I asked Ellie to marry me. It would be lovely to stay in touch and hopefully return one day as Mr + Mrs Murr! Many thanks Chris and El xx Ps: Theo, it was great jamming with you. You've made me want to play music again. Good luck on your travels. Keep a screw in your head and a spring in your step and you'll have fun!!

Lorna (Cornwall, UK) + Dave, 9th - 16th August 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Thank you noth for a wonderful week's stay. Casito Carmelo is amazingly beautiful. We both loved waking up each morning and having breakfast outside. Brendan you have been a star in making our stay a happy one. Your recommendations about places to go and where to eat have been invaluable.

Vincen, Sabine & Rose - Annecy, France, 2nd - 9th August 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

We spent a very peaceful week in Casita Carmelo. Haria is an amazing quiet place, just perfect for us! Thank you for all your good advices about what to do in Lanzarote and also about restaurants (food can make our holidays much better!!) Perhaps we'll book your flat again in a few years when Rose would like to see and climb a volcan! Sorry for the lamp she destroyed throwing her favorite teddy bear... We wish you all the best

Sigrid and Marcel (Venezuela and France), May 2010(BST) Casita Susi

Brendan, Terrie and Theo It was our first time here, and hopefully not the last one. Thanks for keeping the island's 'untouched' feeling...Casita Susi is the real Lanzarote as advertised! It's a Shame that we couldn't stay for longer. Lanzarote is very diverse and we managed to taste a bit of everything. Lots of success and all the best to you.

Micela and Gianluca (Milano, Italia), May 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Lieve and Konike, Antwerpen, Belgium, April 2010(BST) Casita Susi

Dear Terry and Brandon Luckily we could delay our holiday with 1 week, because of the volcano ash cloud from Iceland! We've spent a beautiful 6 days in casita Susi with hot weather! We discovered the variety of lanzarote. You have created a little paradise in Haria. Thanks a lot for your friendly and discreet hospitality. Hope to come back soon!

Caroline and Dave (Cumbria, England), April 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

We have both had a wonderful week on the island, all the more worthwhile staying in your beautiful 'Casita Carmelo'. It took our breath away when we first arrived, and was magical returning to the house after each day. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

David and Nathalie (Belgium), April 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

ICELAND, TWELVE POINTS! Thank you, volcanic cloud for making us stay one week longer at Casita Carmelo. Thank you, Terrie, Brendan and Theo for your hospitality and all your kindness during our stay. We really felt at home here and were amazed by the ravishing landscapes, interesting Manrique architecture, seventies atmosphere and the lovely village of Haria. Definitely the place to stay when you are exiled! Both of us hope to be staying here again in the future and wish you all the best!

Manfred and Sabine, from Herford, Germany, March 2010(BST) Casita Susi

Dear Terrie and Brendan! Thank you very much for your hospitality. We discovered this pretty island from the best place ever and had some unforgotten experiences on the beach and even in the pool. Thank you for these days!

Piet and Jetske (Zwolle, Nederland), April 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

Dear Brendan and Terrie The first time in Lanzarote: a rough island, friendly people, wonderful Manrique, amazing landscape at the Timanfaya parc, crazy coast at Costa Teguise, nice food at la Frontera and every day a cosey home in Casita CarmeloÉ.. Thanks a lot for the special stay and warm welcome.

Tracy and Andy, Yorkshire, March 2010(BST) Casita Susi

Each time we come to lovely LaNZAROTE we leave a little piece of our hearts behind. Now, in Casita Susi, we've discovered another place that makes it difficult to drag ourselves away. Like all your previous guests we have been charmed and delighted by the gorgeous, tranquil space you have created, with all your eye for color and detail (and that Manrique touch we love so much). We are two more among many who leave with our sights set on coming back before too long, and we'll certainly be recommending Har’a and your beautiful, welcoming place to others (albeit judiciously!). Our recommendations to future guests in search of a bit of something slightly different are Puerta verde and EasyRider! Thanks and Best

Peter and Margaret Kelly Ð Bolton, England, 14 March 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

This is novel-real writing-whereÕs the spill chucker? Having had a pretty stressful winter we were ready for a laid back stress free holiday. We have been to Lanzarote three times before and were looking for something away from the more hectic tourist centers. Casita Carmelo is enchanting and Har’a and surroundings just force a laid back approach. Brendan and Terrie have been there in the background to provide for our needs Har’a is a village that brings back childhood memories of waiting at the grocery counter whilst a local housewife caught up on the weekend's gossip, at least that's how I imagined it, I couldn't understand a word as I waited at least five minutes before I could make my purchase, but in laid back mode it didnÕt matter. At the relaxed Har’a market on Saturday morning there was a Local Police presence and it led to one or two questions in my mind Ðlike why was he carrying a gun? And was it rusty? When was the last major crime he had to deal with? I think I know the answer to the last question and it might have been risky asking the gun question? On the beach at Famara in one of those phone wind breaks it was possible to both take in the sun, the scenery and at the same time contemplate how close Har’a is if it wasn't for the spectacular cliffs! Thank you it's been an excellent break and we will certainly recommend Casita Carmelo to family and friends and hope to return In the future. Xxx

Linda and Marc, 14 March 2010(BST) Casita Susi

We loved staying at Casita Susi, a hidden jewel in the valley of the thousand palms. Thank you for your hospitality, Linda and Marc, from Belgium

Phil and Pab Ranlands (Bristol, UK), 7 March 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

A brief note (as I'd forgotten to write it - must be the forgetfulness of being on holiday!) The property was great and Brendan, Terrie and Theo couldn't have been more kind. This break will get us through until September and we have many happy memories to add to those from when we spent family holidays in Lanzarote ten or so years ago. Love and best wishes

Gabi und Georg, 7 March 2010(BST) Casita Susi

Wir haben eine wunderschšne Woche hier verbraucht. Ein herliches Dankeschšn an Terrie und Brendan. Gabi und Georg, von Bavaria

Matt, Jess and Ruby, 3 March 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

We really loved Casita Carmelo and the friendliness of Brendan and Terrie. We think Haria is the nicest spot on the island. We enjoyed the walks around Haria, surprisingly green and colourful. The local feel to Haria was a welcome change from the touristy coast. We would love to come again in the future when Ruby is a bit older. Thank you Brendan and Terrie for such a warm welcome.
Matt, Jess and Ruby, Highbury, London

Anne and Richard, 25 February 2010(BST) Casita Susi

Dear Terrie, Brendan and Theo. We are delighted to have found you. This is our first time in Lanzarote and we are not disappointed in any way. Despite mixed weather this week, we have seen some interesting and amazing sights which have been a great insight into the culture of Lanzarote. The Casita is so comfortable, you make us feel so welcome and we feel we have made new friends who we will want to meet with regularly. Thank you vey much,
Anne and Richard

Christa and Roger, 6 February 2010(BST) Casita Susi

It is a small paradise near the heaven. We will come back!
Christa and Roger, Germany

Heather Bardon, 3 February 2010(BST) Casita Susi

What a revelation Haria was! Having been to the south a few times this was like another universe - wonderful! Thank you Brendan and Terrie for Casita Susi, it is perfect in every way. Thanks also for the hospitality, info, etc., etc. I hope to be sending some (well-behaved) Paddy's your way.
Heather Bardon, Co. Cork, Ireland

Sharon and Mike Jacobs, 3 March 2010(BST) Casita Carmelo

We loved...surfing at famara, buying fish at the municipal market, the big, fluffy blue blanket in the bedroom, tapas at the Sociadad, dinner at Meson La frontera, Haria market (where we bought delicious fresh, soft goats«cheese and olive bread for lunch), the dramatic coastline around El Golfo, the beaches of Papagayo, the Carnival at Costa Teguise, the seaside restaurants of Arrieta, the beach at Arrieta, the red and green mojo sauces served everywhere with crusty bread, the friendly, smiley people of lanzarote, sitting by the pool, the lizard who appeared when we were eating lunch, demanding cheese, backgammon and G & T's when the sun went down...we're sure you'll love it too!
Sharon and Mike Jacobs, Dorset, UK

Ann & Ian, 2 February 2010(BST)

Terrie and Brendan We love the style of Casita Carmelo. Everything we might require in a house is to hand and it is such a lovely cool oasis to return to on a hot day (yes, we did have some hot days after a coolish start to the week!) We loved the pool and the tranquility of the terrace.

The north of Lanzarote has a huge variety of scenery and is surprisingly green and floriforous. We enjoyed several walks using «Walks« by David & Ross Brawn (Discovery Walking Guides). Some time was spent bird watching and we saw several species of Waders at the Salinas del Rio, Great Grey Shrikes and Hoopoes are abundant and we could hear the laughing Doves from the terrace. One evening we took a trip down the Caleta road and were lucky enough to spot 3 Honbara Bustards. A week on this lovely island is not nearly enough and we look forward to returning, Ann & Ian Steele

Richard & De, 22 January 2010(BST)

Dear Terrie and Brendan This northerly part of Lanzarote has surpassed our expectations, the people, the places and the dramatic views have been wonderful. This place is so tranquil and so delightful to come back to each day! And the bonus has been the inspiration of Cesar Manrique who has had a fantastic influence everywhere on the environment of this island! Long love the peacefulness and beauty of Haria & Casita Carmelo. We hope to come back soon, Richard and De

Pat and John, 15 January 2010(BST)

Dear Terrie and Brendan What can we say that has not already been said!? The place is magic, the welcome warm, far from the madding crowd but close to good food and wine. We could not ask for more and hope to see you all again in 2011. We have found both good walks and very friendly people, thank you for making our stay so special. Pat and John

Ceciel y Houd, January 2010(BST)

To Brendan, Terrie and all future visitors to this lovely hideaway. Casita Carmelo is the most charming, most comfortable and coziest place to stay of all the casitas and apartments we have ever rented (and we have seen a lot of them!) Haria is a friendly village and Casita Carmelo is the ideal home base, far away from the large tourist centers, but close to all the interesting attractions of Lanzarote. Of all the beautiful walks which you can do on this island we would like to recommend the walk from Haria up to Los Helechos, continue to Ermita de las Nieves and then follow the track on the ridge all the way to Teguise. Return by taxi or bus! We surely hope to return! Bedank en vat zieus, Ceciel y Houd.

22 November 2009(BST)

From the Cooks. We have had a great time and have enjoyed great weather and the beautiful scenery of Haria. Casita Carmelo is charming and very easy to stay in. We found this was a very relaxing place, no noisy little ones or extraneous noises, just peace and quiet. We loved all of Cesar Manrique«s work, especially the Cactus Garden (great food) and his home. Thank you Brendan and Terrie for making the surroundings so gorgeous. We will definitely recommend this little peaceful oasis to all our friends!

Ausra and Vidumartes, 15 November 2009(BST)

Nico y Elena, 11 November 2009(BST)

For both personal and professional reasons, this weekend was a turning point in our lives. We will certainly remember Casita Carmelo. Hidden away, romantic, blissfully quiet. No city noises, no complex noises and no (beautiful) children noises. We will see you again soon...Nico y Elena. Casita Carmelo has been the ideal setting for those memories. Thanks

Tove and Eva, Norway. 15 November 2009(BST)

We had a fantastic stay at Caleta del Sebo. Made the reservation through "The Real Lanzarote.Com" web site. Got a high standard flat with 2 bedrooms and a big commonroom. Morning sun at the terace. Silent place, 2-4 minutes to the seaside and restaurants. La Graciosa was magic, the beaches, the mountains and the colours. Thank you Brenda and Terrie for your good service! Two very pleaced norwegians.

So, thanks for your hospitality and we wish you all the best, love, Inga and Enno.

A short break to celebrate 20 years together! Casita Carmelo lived up to all our expectations. A beautiful and tranquil space, waking up to silence. Brendan and Terrie have picked a fantastic location in an unspoilt village. We have enjoyed lots of long walks enjoying breathtaking views and the unique flora of Lanzarote. The food has been fantastic, the fresh fish at «Amanacer« second-to-none. Brendan and Terrie are perfect hosts! Thanks to you both, best wishes, felicity and Nick

La isla es increible y merece mucho la pena conocerla.un saludo

Fantastic Apartment
Great Location
Highly Recommended

We had a fantastic stay as Casita Carmelo

I made the reservation through "The Real Lanzarote.Com" web site and we were extremely pleased with our choice.

Our aim was to explore the real life of Lanzarote (having not been before) and it all started here.

The design of the apartment incorporated a lot of the buildings old features which gave it a very homely 'top notch feel'. The floor of the shower was made from Volcanic Rock and for me was a total WOW factor. The private terrace was great and we shared the pool with one other apartment.

Brendan & Terri had thought of everything to make our holiday complete and were always on hand for support.

The location of the apartment is quiet but in a prime location for visiting the main tourist attractions.

We enjoyed Jardin de Cactus, Jameos del Aqua and Mirador del Rio. The local restaurants only 5 mins walk away were good and the craft market in the square was different selling local made crafts - Pottery, Leather, Clothing, Jewellery and Local Produce .

We hadn't been to Lanzarote before and really didn't know what to expect but all in all we can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be returning to stay at Casita Carmella, it was like paradise.

Thank you once again Brendan.

Best regards Sue and Paul xxx

We were looking for a nice place to stay on Lanzarote, off the beaten track and in a "real" village rather than a tourist hotspot, and we found "Casita Susi" and "Casa Carmelo" in Haria. They are absolutely as nice and beautiful as they look on the pictures. The building is a refurbished old farmhouse and has kept (or even re-gained) the incredible charme of the historic structure. The flats are full of lovely details, with a personal touch, very cosy. It was the perfect retreat for a week of relax inside and outside the house (beautiful terrace and pool!) as well as sports and excursions all over the island. Brendan and Terrie are lovely hosts, kind, friendly and helpful, and with the right mix of easy conversation and discretion. Highly recommended!

A friend and I booked both Apatrments Carmelo and Casita Suzi during Easter 2009. Our arrival was at night and to see the pool lit up so beautifully confirmed our to us that we had made the right choice. The North of the island is very different to the tourist bound south so from here you can get the best of both worlds by hiring a car and exploring the island. Terry and Brendan were excellent hosts looking after our every need from advising us places to visit and which restaurnts to eat in. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful place to anyone wanting somewhere to relax and unwind. I will certainly be back!

We stayed in Casita Carmelo for a week in April. Casita Carmelo is stylish and rustic and has taken inspiration from the works of Cesar Manrique. Your friendly knowledgable hosts Brendan, Terrie, and Theo are on hand to advise all you need to know to enhance your stay. Haria is beautiful and peacefull with great views and friendly locals. The location is great as you are close to some of the major attractions Jameos del Agua, Catus Garden, Cueva los Verdes, and Mirador del Rio all within 15 mins drive.
Our favourite restaurants were Amanceer (Arrieta), El Lago (Punta Mujeres), and Meson la Frontera (Haria)fantastic views. Chingra beach (Arrieta)does nice tapas with views of the ocean.
This is the perfect place to chill out, relax, enjoy a great island, it's many sights and restaurants. Casita Carmelo Brendan, Terrie, Theo, Haria, and the north of the island has everthing you need for a first class holiday.

Many thanks Brendan, Terrie, and Theo. We hope to return.

In these times of financial melt-down there can be few better places to re-charge the batteries and believe it will all come right in the end. PARADISE Re-visited is what Brendan and Terry offer with their beautiful appartements. We stayed in 'Casita Carmelo' a jewel appartement just a few minutes from the picture postcard village of Haria. Private terrace for alfresco dining and sunbathing, lovely shared pool and a sunken bedroom to die for. Weather lazing and chilling-out, or super little art trips and volacanoe walking it's all there! Terry and Brendan and their son Theo are the most perfect, gracious hosts always descreet but also always there for a chat and a 'sundowner' if you feel like knowing special little places to visit or great local restaurants off the tourist track. We can't recommend it too highly IT'S FABULOUS & BRILLIANT!!!!!!! will be going back for more very soon!

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said here. March 2009 was our second visit. We stayed in Carmelo last year, but since it was booked up this year, stayed in Suzi, where we found similar comfort and style.

There's something about this part of Lanzarote that is completely relaxing, and staying in surroundings such as one finds at Carmelo and Suzi simply adds to that. Brendan, Terrie and Theo are quite exceptionally helpful and a fund of knowledge - ideal hosts in an ideal property, a combination I suspect is fairly rare. We'll certainly be back, hopefully next spring for another chill-out session.

We had a glorious holiday on Lanzarote and we found Casita Carmelo the perfect place for a chill out break. Brendan and Terri are gracious and generous hosts. We were made to feel very welcome and it felt very much like home. The apartment is quiet and peaceful and situated in the most beautiful village on the island. We would happily recommend reallanzarote.com to everyone that is looking for somewhere special to stay. We had a great time - thanks to you both.

I have just returned from a fabulous week at Carmelo with my husband and 3 year old daughter. Having spent every holiday in the south during my childhood I have long wrestled with the idea of returning to Lanzarote but never dared because I knew the south has been spoilt. Having seen this website and pestered Brendan with questions we decided that a trip to the north would be a safe bet. So glad we did, we had a fabulous time.

Brendan and Terrie were the perfect hosts, friendly yet discreet and were more than helpful when we realised we had left our driving licence at home! I have no hestitation in recommending reallanarote.com to all discrening holiday makers who want that extra special touch.

We spent the most lovely holidays with our boy at Casita Carmelo. It felt like honeymoon. Haria is one of the most beautiful villages on the planet and the surroundings invite you for wonderful excursions. No need to go to the sea every day. The house is cosy and in an unstylish way very stylish. After visiting all the amazing Cesar Manrique buildings on the island you will be proud to have your own one - that's how it feels. Last not least Terry and Brendan, the friendly hosts, are doing a great job. They won't mind to tell you their secrets about the islands, where to go, where to eat etc.. We will come back!

What a fabulous place you have in Haria, Brendan and Terrie! We have truly enjoyed every minute of the holidays spent in the glorious surrounds of Casas Carmelo and Susi and were always made to feel welcome, relaxed and happy. The apartments are fabulous with stunning terrace and pool and equipped with everything that we needed and the situation is beautiful! We will happily recommend reallanzarote.com to everyone that is looking for something special in the Canaries. Thank you, once again

We have stayed in Casita Carmelo four times now and plan to return. Each time Brendan and Terri have added to the facilities, improving what we thought was perfection! Not only is the all important location superb, and if you ever thought Lanzarote was a barren waste - think again, but Brendan and Terri are the perfect hosts, supplying a balance of friendliness and privacy that adds a special something to the whole experience. In these troubled times you need to spend you hard earned money wisely and find a holiday that will be uplifting and relaxing. We've been looking at various options and can't find anything to rival what we found in Lanzarote - nuff said.

We had a fabulous time in Lanzarote last August. After many busy months of work without a break we escaped to the island for some much needed rest and relaxation. The weather, cuisine and ease of travel was just perfect ...and the generous hospitality of the Finucane Family gave us much to look forward to each evening...but what surprised us most was the varied work by Caesar Manrico - a true master! We will most definitely return sooner rather than later - and will be sure to stay in Apartment Carmelo. There is no better place!

Can't say enough great things about Brendan! Not only did he find us the perfect apartment in Arrieta at busy Christmastime, he went above and beyond what we could ever hope for and has redefined incredible service. I can't wait to go back to this friendly, gorgeous, fascinating island. Anyone visiting Islas Canarias should do it real-lanzarote style! Brendan, Christmas dinner at El Puerte Verde in Haria was one of the highlights of our trip, thanks for the tip. Hope to come back soon!

A great break away from the whirls of living in this busy world of ours. Following Brendans advice we chose to stay in Haria, at the Casa la Crucita (forgive my spelling..). The perfect place for those seeking peace, quiet, comfort, friendliness and within a short distance of the best restaurant on the island!! Thanks Brendan, Haria and its people are beautiful.

We spent Christmas in Lanzarotte and stayed, courtesy of Brendan, in Arrieta - a great location, not least for its good choice of places to eat and shop for basics. It also proved to be a great base for going round the island, yet also having some peace and quiet. The fact that I brought a nasty dose of the flu with me from the UK, and that I still had a great time, is testament to how lovely the place is and how helpful Brendan is as a host. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had a fabulous holiday with www.real-lanzarote.com the ´baby´of Brendan and Terrie, your hosts. After agonising whether to go to a southern resort or try the beauty of north of Lanzarote we settled on Casita Carmelo in Haria, the prettiest village in Lanzarote. And was that a good choice! The Casita is exquisite, tasteful, cosy, private and what a comfy bed! Adjoining the generous sun terrace was the beautiful private pool, a constant joy whether swimming in it or drinking a glass of fine Lanzarote wine alongside it. Brendan and Terrie are fabulous hosts, attentive, considerate with lots of tips to enhance your stay. The holiday of a lifetime. We´ll be back.........soon! Thanks
