Casita Carmelo
nestles on the edge of the historic oasis of Haria, the main village of
the north of Lanzarote. The Casita has been hewn out of a 250-year-old
Canarian villa, is self-contained and as cosy as can be!
It is painted in soft colour
washes reflecting the earth colours of Lanzarote and with its discreet
romantic lighting brings calm to this crazy world....
It has a sunken bedroom,
(double bed with excellent mattress) with full en-suite bathroom with
Cesar Manrique shower, bidet, toilet and washbasin. From the bedroom
there are steps up to the exquisite sitting/dining room with rustic
kitchen facing the hillside. The kitchen has fridge/freezer, coffee
maker, toaster and gas hob. There is a cd player (cd´s not supplied) to
entertain the chef whilst he/she conjures up a culinary masterpiece!
Meat and fish here on Lanzarote are delicious. For those who have to
keep up with outside world, there is satellite tv.
The French doors lead onto a
very large, private patio garden, the first space acting as secondary
dining area (al fresco) and beyond that the main sun terrace overlooks
the fabulous Cesar
Manrique, private swimming pool
(10mtrs x 6mtrs) shared with Apartment Casita
Susi. On this terrace there is sun all morning/early
afternoon and during the afternoon the sun strolls over to the al
fresco dining area.

The local shops, restaurants, bars and village square are a mere
5-minute stroll away and the immediate vicinity, a poet´s dream, with
rolling, unspoilt countryside, and stunning scenery. And not to mention
the friendly, open Canarian people. Paradise!
The weather in the Canaries is
usually very comfortable with the prevalent north-easterly winds
keeping the temperatures to a manageable 28 degrees plus in the summer
and between 18 and 20 degrees in the winter. But, during the winter
months, it can be chilly early morning and evening so warm clothes are
essential! All linen is supplied, you just need beach towels.
The owners live on site in the
main villa so any queries or problems can be dealt with immediately.
