For the strictly indolent or intrepid, this off-shore island is ideal.
Nothing but beaches and............more beaches. There are only a few
4-wheel-drive vehicles on the island as there are no proper roads, only
tracks. For the truly physical you can walk from one side to the other
(2 hours) or there are bikes to hire.
This is just the place for finally
getting into Captain Corelli's mandolin or improving your Spanish
verbs. Or, just getting in touch (at last!) with your inner self.
There are just about enough
shops, restaurants and bars to supply the locals and the few tourists
who've stumbled upon this remarkable little sandy island.
Right on the harbour are a
couple of sweet little restaurants, specialising in fish and pasta,
and, quite often, when enjoying a sundowner, you can witness your
supper being heaved ashore by the local fisherman. Fish that is, not
pasta!

It's important to note
there is no airport in La Graciosa which means flying to Arrecife, then
being transported to Orzola for the ferry crossing (25 minutes). No
cars are allowed on the ferries so it would be best if we make the
transport arrangements for you.
Also, there are not the
medical facilities we are used to in Europe, only a local GP. Any
emergencies would need treating in the hospital in Arrecife.
