The magnificent south of Lanzarote has everything for the ideal family holiday. Practically guaranteed warm sun all year round, wonderful, safe sandy beaches, golf courses, water park, theme park, yachting marina and…………….lots more.
Its terrain is spectacular, especially the national park Timanfaya in the far south where centuries ago, when the volcanoes last erupted, an incredible landscape was born, one of the most incredible sights on this stunning island.
Immediately abutting the national park are the La Geria Vineyards which produces the excellent Lanzarote wines. Amazingly, the only water these vines receive is from the overnight dew sucked down from the clear Lanzarote skies. A bottle from here will keep Granny very happy. |

A hire car would enhance your enjoyment of this island, it’s very small, 29 miles by 11, and car hire and petrol are cheap. So, even a vehicle for a couple of days would be worthwhile if your main entertainment is flat out by the pool or flat out on the beach.
Also in the far south are the best beaches on the island. Just off the rapidly-growing resort of Playa Blanca are the seven separate sun-soaked, sandy beaches of Papagayo, washed with a turquoise sea, perfect for the devotee of sun worship.
