LA NASA RESTAURANT

La Nasa restaurant perched on the seaside in Arrieta has burst onto the scene after cheerful renovation and decoration. The chef Domingo and the Maitré D, his lovely wife Ana, have refreshed the existing menu whilst retaining some of the old favourites.

We were lucky enough to be invited to the inauguration, free food and wine (yippee), wonderful in these days of austerity, quite a treat but then, the Canarians are a generous and friendly lot.

The emphasis is on fish and seafood of course but there is plenty too for the meat eaters.

The speciality though is paella, which is an overhang from the restaurant of old, Ana´s mother being the resident cook for eons, takeaway to your villa if that should be the preference and not over expensive.

Both Domingo and Ana could not be more welcoming, we do love a friendly, welcoming face, that´s how eateries should be, keep us happy.

Tonight we are going to have a tasting, we have our fingers crossed everything goes well. We support and encourage these young people to strike out on their own, it keeps the moneyed, monopolising moguls on their toes!Been and done, excellent, a surprising mixture and definitely one to revisit with… pleasure!
